ABOUT OUR DENTAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM

Little Rock School of Dental Assisting is a post-secondary career school offering hands-on, skill focused, career training.

Our mission is to provide practical and affordable, lifelong learning opportunities for dental health care professionals with educational activities that aim to increase knowledge, skills, enhance practice performance, and improve the health status of patients.

The philosophy of the School is based on a belief that people can be trained in a relatively short period of time and provide students the focus on the critical skills to enter the world of professional dental assisting.  Our course is developed by our experienced team of Dentists and Dental Assistants working in the dental community every day.

The program prepares students to assist the dentist. Dental assistants may carry out a variety of laboratory, clinical and office duties. Classes are held on Fridays or Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our school offers four classes per year (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall). The semesters are 10 weeks long, with testing at the end of the program.

The graduate receives a graduation certificate and is prepared to become a Registered Dental Assistant.  A Registered Dental Assistant must first pass the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiner's Registered Dental Assistant Exam.  The Exam includes sections on Radiography, Coronal Polishing, N2O Administration and Infection Control. Our program and study guides are designed to help you pass the exam and prepare you to be a chair-side dental assistant. Our students are assessed the Arkansas State Board Registration Exam during their time in class and are not required to take the exam on their own at a separate testing facility.

The subjects are covered using class room instruction and practical hands-on training with the equipment, instrumentation and materials used in a state of the art practicing dental office.

We accept approximately 15 students per semester. If you are interested, we encourage you to review our curriculum and submit your completed application to start the registration process and your journey to a new exciting career!
